Cue the Yawns, it's Planning Time
Finally, we have started to outline how to do our music video. There is a lot of planning that needs to be done, so this will serve to set up and organize our ideas. We need to consider all things in the music video, such as props, setting, costumes, and even a backup plan if something goes wrong.
Firstly, we finalized our song choice of I Ain’t Worried by OneRepublic and have begun to edit it, so that it is the required length.
Props
We decided we were going to do multiple narratives in the music video which means we need a few different props.
Firstly, we are going to use a guitar to show a teenager who dreams of being a famous singer.
Secondly, we are going to a skateboard to again show guitarist teenagers to play on the stereotype
Our second prop will be an old pair of converse to show a dancer.
We will also include a canvas for painting as well as other art supplies.
Our next prop is a bicycle to showcase the same artistic character.
We will also include a jump rope to show yet another character.
Costumes
The costumes we wear are going to be everyday clothes of our time. Our first character, the guitarist will wear jeans and a hoodie. Following, the second character would be wearing a little sundress. Then, the third scene would wear brighter clothes, probably a shirt and shorts. Our final scene will be someone wearing baggy clothes to the artist's aesthetic.
Film Schedule
12/11 - We will film the first two main sections of the music video.
12/12 - We will film the second two parts which we need classmates for after school.
12/13- This is an extra day to wrap up filming if any days were missed or shortened
12/14 - We will edit this day.
12/15 - We will reshoot anything that needs to be reshot following preliminary editing.
12/16 - This will be the wrap-up day to finalize the editing of the video.
Film Locations
Our first location will be Ja'neece's neighborhood where the jump rope and painting scene will take place.
Our second location will be my neighborhood to film the dancing and skateboarding scene.
Health and Safety Protocols
To ensure we are safe, we are staying away from sharp items and ensuring everything we use is clean. We will include only minor stunts which will mitigate the risk of injury. The clothing and props will be owned by those using them, so that will lessens health concerns.
Back-up Plan
We made sure to keep our locations general so that if things go wrong or a location is unavailable we can film it somewhere else. Our days also include extra allotted time, so that if we cannot film one day we can do more another.
