Planning Blog: Location, Participants, Health, Schedule
Hi Again!
Finally, we have started to outline our introduction for a film! There is a lot of planning that needs to be done, so this will serve to organize and finalize our ideas as an actual agenda. We made sure to consider all components of a film, such as props, setting, costumes, and even a backup plan if something goes wrong.
Participants:
We have two actors for this film, a married couple who will play husband and wife for the film. We chose to use Sara’s parents as they were the most willing of our options and the most available.
Props
Given the main character will be baking, there are many minor props that are needed for this scene.
Firstly, we are going to green food dye to mimic poison to
Secondly, we will use various kitchen materials such as a spatula, bowl, oven, and oven mitt.
Thirdly, we will need baking materials such as flour, sugar, or just a cupcake mix to show for the baking.
Next, we will the finished cupcake itself as the murder weapon.
Our final prop will be some birthday signifier such as a balloon, banner, or sign on the cupcake.
Costumes
The clothing will reflect modern fashion standards for casual clothing such as jeans or leggings as well as shirts. The specifics of the costumes we decided would leave up to the actors as the clothing will be from theirs, to begin with. However, the clothing must be black, white, blue, or brown to stick with the neutral color clothing stereotypical of the genre.

Film Locations
We plan to use two main locations in the scene.
Firstly, we will use a kitchen setting which will be filmed at Sara’s house for sake of simplicity as her parents are our actors.
Secondly, we will use their dining room to show the cupcake being eaten which shows the crime in question, the husband’s murder.
Health and Safety Protocols
To ensure we are safe, we are staying away from sharp items and ensuring everything we use is clean. We will include only minor stunts which will mitigate the risk of injury. The clothing and props will be owned by those using them, so that will lessen health concerns.
Back-up Plan
We made sure to keep our locations general such as a kitchen and dining room, so it is more achievable so that if things go wrong or a location is unavailable we can film it somewhere else, like my house as it has the same amenities. Our days also include extra allotted time, so that if we cannot film one day we can do more another.
Thank you!
