Planning Blog: Scipt

 


Scene 1:


 Begins on a black screen, slow, classical music fades in the background as you hear two people in a heated conversation;
 
Husband: You know I don't like you talking to him.
Wife: He's just a coworker, we were just talking about work!
    

Scene 2:

  From a birds-eye shot, we view the wife baking cupcakes, the camera focuses on her hands, measuring and pouring the ingredients. The music gradually gets louder and no dialogue occurs. 

Scene 3:

   Shown through the shadows of a window, we view people arguing. The dialogue is muffled and no music plays. It is clear they are arguing through hand motions and body language. The man then storms away.

Scene 4:
    The camera then cuts to the wife pouring a poisonous substance into one of the cupcake trays and placing the tray in the oven.  An action match shot occurs, transitioning into her pulling the cupcakes out of the oven. We then get a high angle of the wife frosting the cupcakes. The icing on them are all white except the poisoned one, which is blue.

Scene 5:
    We view the husband at an eye-level angle sitting at a table seemingly waiting for something to happen. The lights gradually dim, so dark it the people are just barely visible. We hear the people around him begin singing "Happy Birthday". We then see the wife coming from the side bringing the husband a cupcake, the camera stays on the husband the entire time. On the cupcake, the candle is lit. The light highlights the man's face. When the song ends, the man blows the candles out, and the title screen appears.

Group Introduction: My Group Mates

 Hello there again! I am in a group with three others, Kaylie E, Sarah R, and Sara S. I am very excited about this group. Usually, I am more reserved when it comes to group projects and prefer to work by myself, but I decided to take a chance on this.       Sarah R is someone I know to be especially dependable and hard-working. She is very good about not letting others do her work for her. However, media is not her strongest point, so I am not sure what her role will be once we start. Most likely she will take on a leadership role because of the group, she is the best at staying on task and keeping up with deadlines. Additionally, she watches a lot of TV which in its own way is an introduction to media.  By Emma T, Kaylie E, Sara S, and Sara R Howdy! I hope you're doing well today! Scene 1: The first scene is a medium close-up at eye level and will begin against a white wall. The actor will wear a white shirt and jeans without any obvious make-up. We chose to use neutral lighting to convey the blandness of the shot. They will use body language to convey boredom using a yawn, a sigh, etc whichever is the most convincing acting.  This scene does not include our pro duct because the introduction of the product builds excitement later.  Scene 2: This is where the product will be introduced. The setting, costumes, and actor remain the same in this scene. We will introduce our prop, a box of Dunkin’ Donuts with a focus of brighter light on the doughnuts, but the lighting still remains relatively neutral. This pans to follow the actor’s arm as they grab a doughnut. The entire section is a close-up at a high angle to show the most appealing view of the doughnuts. This serv...

Production: If You Like Piña Coladas...

  Hi! I’m Back Again! I was not directly involved in the editing process. As I had played a major part in planning the commercial and filming it, we agreed that another member (Sara) would edit. She also had the most experience, making her the most qualified. However, I did indirectly help with choices playing into our rough draft.  On the day of filming, Sara and I discussed music choices, and we agreed to the Piña Colada Song by Rupert Holmes. We chose this because it has a tropical and fun vibe that we thought really fit the commercial. For the classical music, we had agreed to use it, but the exact song chosen by Sara was Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 15. We chose classical music because it is generally considered “boring” to younger generations which is often Dunkin’s target group.
