Creative Critical Reflection

 

    This has truly been an amazing journey that has made grow as a film-maker and as a person. It has taught me so many valuable skills such as researching and combining conventions and creativity. This final movie was definitely my favorite as it pushed me as a film-maker. My favorite part of the process was brainstorming ideas for the movie though I enjoyed everything else as well. Still, I could improve my editing skills but this class did set me with a great foundation!

 Hello again! Horror is a genre that seeks to create a sense of panic, fear, alarm, and dread within its audience. These films often rely on the portrayal of people’s fears and nightmares. Planning Blog: Location, Participants, Health, Schedule

Hi Again!    Finally, we have started to outline our introduction for a film! There is a lot of planning that needs to be done, so this will serve to organize and finalize our ideas as an actual agenda. We made sure to consider all components of a film, such as props, setting, costumes, and even a backup plan if something goes wrong.  Participants:  We have two actors for this film, a married couple who will play husband and wife for the film. We chose to use Sara’s parents as they were the most willing of our options and the most available.  Props Given the main character will be baking, there are many minor props that are needed for this scene.  Firstly, we are going to green food dye to mimic poison to Secondly, we will use various kitchen materials such as a spatula, bowl, oven, and oven mitt. Genre Decision: Thriller!

 Hello! After researching all three genres, Wedecided to go with the thriller genre as it fits our concept for the movie the best.     With genre 1, action, it would be too difficult to include into our concept in the short few minutes we have. One of the biggest issues we had with the action genre was that many of the movies follow the conventions almost perfectly, and we would like some creative freedom. Furthermore, a common sound convention is that studios will hire artists to create custom soundtracks for them. We simply don't have the means for that, finding the "right" soundtrack while keeping to the conventions will prove difficult. Moreover, action movies just don't hold the same type of feeling we are trying to invoke.
